Well, I think that STV should always want to broadcast Trivia. It gives the people who work for STV experience and if it's a money-issue that is the problem they could just get people to place ads during the contest like they used to (The one that I remember most is that JR Liquor commercial where the guy waves to the camera...whenever I'd see I'd wave back for fun...but that was probably mostly from sleep dep!)
Anyways, if it's opinions you want here goes. I'd say show more of actual trivia (dj's reading the questions, people answering phones) and less of random stuff like people in the hallways eating or doing whatever. I'd also think it would be cool if you wanted to cover more things why not show things like the pre-trivia events like Trivia Movie line, Registration, Trivia parade or stuff that is happing during the contest like the Running Questions or Trivia Stones.
Above all, just broadcast Trivia on STV. Anything would be better than the one year where you didn't and all that was broadcast was like 20 old random trivia photos over...and over...and over again.

Getting sponsors to place ads during the hour breaks I'm sure would generate some funds. I to remember that guy waving in the JR Liquor advertisement. The other spots that are burned into my brain are the Rainbow Casino and Pasquale's ads.
I give props to jswanson, he has been quite active in this thread and believe that may reflect a genuine interest in providing a quality broadcast. I also agree there needs to be coverage of other trivia events. Our team always looked forward to the camera showing up while we were waiting in line for the Trivia movie. We usually managed a few good soundbites.
I'll be supportive of STV regardless of what decision they make. The coverage is enjoyable, but Trivia would go on without it.

Regarding ads on STV... I thought they tried that one year, but that it was somehow not allowed because it is a "free" channel on psuedo-public TV. Does anyone know for sure one way or the other?
If advertising is allowed, then I'd imagine that quite a bit could be raised there and with DVD sales, and who knows what else...

I like the idea of broadcasting the running questions and trivia stone. How about taking the show to the people. I would like to see an on location type trivia focus at teams headquarters. You could also do spots and interviews with the people at the comm building when they come to turn in music questions. I think there is a lot of things you could do to make the trivia broadcast better than ever.

I honestly love it when you guys broadcast it. It's fun to try to point out which person picked up the phone you called on, fun to watch the DJs, just fun to watch it all, and everything they do. It makes Trivia much more fun. That one year without it, it seemed so dull. Then it was back this year, and I LOVED IT.

That was one of the best written pieces I've seen on a forum in a long time. STV staff really should take that to heart, and act upon it accordingly!
